Coping with a "Grayed out" open button in Config PPP

This is a set of instructions designed to correct problems with connecting on a Macintosh.

These should be followed AFTER making sure all files are in the proper place.

Consult the "Everything Macintosh" Tutorial for the correct placement of files.

1. Open MacTCP (skip this if they use TCP/IP)

2. Click one time on Local Talk (or any other icon)

3. Close MacTCP

Before we continue, lets try just reopening MacTCP, reselecting FreePPP,

closing MacTCP and then go back to FreePPP.

See if the connect button is now black. If it is not, return to the system folder and continue with #4

4. Open the System Folder

5. Locate the File "MacTCP DNR"

-TRASH IT- (it's OK-these files will automatically rebuild themselves)

6. Now open the Preferences Folder (in the System Folder)

7. Locate the file "MacTCP Prep"

-TRASH IT-

8. Locate the file "PPP Preferences"

-TRASH IT-

9. *RESTART*
