ComOS 3.8.2 Release Note for PortMaster 398/12/30

IntroductionThe new Lucent Remote Access (formerly Livingston Enterprises) ComOS(R) 3.8.2 software is now released for the PortMaster(R) 3 Integrated Access Server. This release is provided at no charge to all Lucent customers. This release note documents commands and features added between ComOS release 3.8 and ComOS 3.8.2 on the PortMaster 3, including improved modem support. This release note applies only to the PortMaster 3.
Bugs Fixed in ComOS 3.8.2The following bugs have been fixed in ComOS 3.8.2.
X.75 on the PortMaster 3 now supports 2048 octet packets. In previous releases, the PortMaster 3 crashed upon receiving a large X.75 information frame (I-frame).
Multifrequency R2 signaling (MFR2) tone timing used in Interregister signalling phase or R2 is now in conformance with the ITU standards for MFR2 tones. In previous releases, MFR2 tones were sent for a fixed length of time.
New receive thresholds now determine the sensitivity of the MFR2 tone detector.
Throughput on an analog Multilink PPP (MP) connection from a Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98 machine has been improved. In previous releases, throughput was very poor when using analog MP from a Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98 machine.
