Instructions for WS_FTP for Commercial/Domain Page installation.
1). You will need to set the 'Host Address' to www2.telenet.net OR www.your-domain.com 2). You will set the 'host type' to AUTOMATIC DETECT 3). Enter your userid. 4). Enter your password. 5). Click of 'Startup' tab. 6). Enter 'Inital Remote Host Directory' (Given to you by Telenet if you use www2.telenet.net OR /htdocs/ if you use www.your-domain.com). 7). Enter 'Inital Local Directory' - the path to the directory where the pages are stored on your computer. 8). Save the settings by pressing 'Apply'. To start the process you will have to get connected to the Internet as usual. Minimize your browser (Internet Explorer), and then open up your FTP software. At this point click on connect, and you should notice a change in screens. At this point you will see a split screen display with the section on the left being your local drive, and the one on the right being the remote host computer. Select the files from the local machine you want moved to the remote host. Click on the -->; and your files will be transferred from your machine to Telenet's servers. Once your start page is located on our server, rename it to index.htm, if it is not already named index.htm. This is required for your page to be seen by the rest of the world. |
